The syllabi at UG and PG level are formed by the University
Boards of Studies and the college being affiliated to the Veer Narmad South Gujarat
University; it has to follow the courses framed by the university. The heads of
the various departments of the college are the board members and help in designing
the syllabi of their respective subjects.
They also try to solve the practical problems faced by the teachers. Moreover, the
courses are upgraded every three years. The practical aspects of management and
commerce are taught through the case studies and field visits. Environmental Studies
as an interdisciplinary subject at F.Y.B.Com. level has been introduced by the university
with a view to create awareness of environment in the young learners as per U.G.C.
recommendation.
The college has established an Eco-Club for the purpose. At U.G. level communication
based courses in the subject of English have been introduced for the last six-seven
years with a view to develop effective communication skills among the young generation.
Traditional as well as advanced techniques are used for the teaching purpose i.e.
lecture method, group discussions, assignments, presentation and audio visual and
multi-media projector.
The faculties are encouraged to upgrade themselves with modern equipment and techniques
of teaching. The institution has well established library with computerized automation
and still the aim is to make it an e-library in future. Apart from educational activities,
several society-oriented activities are also conducted in the college. The institution
has two units of N.S.S. and some students have also opted for N.C.C. training. Prof.
Mukesh Shah of Navyug Science College is in charge of the N.C.C. unit of all the
three colleges. Blood donation camps, Aids awareness programs, adoption of villages,
social service activities, donations to blind school etc. are undertaken in the
college to create awareness of the importance of social service in the young learners.
The college students and staff generously donate to the Sarvodaya Parivar of Pindval,
Dharampur Taluka, to extend help to the underprivileged people. The college arranges
lectures and discussions on women empowerment, women rights, human rights etc. to
create awareness on all these issues pertaining to the society at large.
